Year Five – Summer

Summer 2017

Summer’s here!

Welcome back for a fun-filled term.

Roger Bannister completes the first four-minute mile

This term our topic is the ‘Great Race’ and we shall be learning about a number of different races, following some sporting events and finding out how to live heathily. Much of our learning will be based around this topic and our projects in Art and Design Technology will also be linked.

Housekeeping information about Year 5:

PE:   PE lessons are on Fridays and Thursdays. Please ensure that PE kits are in school at all times and that your child has a refillable water bottle.

Please label all uniform, lunch boxes, PE kits and water bottles with your child’s name.

Home Learning:

Literacy: This will be set on a weekly basis.

In Maths,  times tables will be tested regularly and some homework will be set on MyMaths online. Please talk to the relevant teacher if you are not able to access the internet.

Reading: Please encourage and listen to your child read at home. Reading is important as it broadens vocabulary, cultivates imagination and also provides information.

Please click on the link for  the  Home Learning Grid  for the Summer Term. Please prepare at least 4 pieces and bring in for the week commencing 26th June 2017.

Please follow our learning journey in the Blog.

The WOW assembly dates will be arranged soon.
