Thank you

Thank you to all of the children and parents in Year 2 this year. I have greatly enjoyed teaching the class and thank you for all the lovely presents and cards that I received. I wish everyone a lovely summer and holiday.

Community Spirit

BERKELEY PRIMARY loved waving off the amazing cyclists last week for #BSQ2BSQ!  It made it all so real for them after their week of sponsored cycling, where they collectively cycled 340 miles to help raise money and awareness for 3 charities close to the hearts of many in our community, Meningitis Now, CJD and Sue Ryder.

Many of the cyclists and the organisers of #BSQ2BSQ  are coming to school this Monday for a special assembly to share their success story and help our children to further understand the impact they have had on this phenomenal community event.

Thank you all for your support and participation in our part towards this event with Nightrider and On ‘ya Bike week. You have all helped to raise a huge amount for these charities and the children have loved being a part of this incredible community venture! What a wonderful town Berkeley is! These children are the future of Berkeley and they will never forget how much they’ve achieved over the last few weeks!

Well done to everyone involved! 😀

Black Country Living Museum

Key Stage 1 had a fantastic time at the Black Country Living Museum today.  They saw lots of old houses and shops along with a bakery, school and cinema. All of the children behaved brilliantly and represented Berkeley Primary School very well.

A little reminder about our trip tomorrow…

We would kindly ask that the children arrive at school for 8.15am so that we can register both classes and leave promptly at 8.30am. Please can all children come to the Year 1 class to be registered. We hope to return back at school by 4.00pm.

  • Your child will need a back pack in which they can carry their lunch.
  • Your child will need to bring a packed lunch with a drink in a screw top bottle and snacks.
  • As many other schools visit The black country museum all children need to wear their school uniform, so we can spot them easily.
  • There is no need for spending money.
  • If your child suffers from travel sickness, please make the teacher aware and give any tablets before entering school.
  • Please ensure your child is wearing suitable clothing, taking weather into consideration.

Please pack sun cream if necessary.

Kind regards,

Miss Bratt and Mr Gresty.

WALT: Compare the geographical similarities and differences between Berkeley and Tocuaro.

In Geography this week the children compared the geographical similarities and differences between Berkeley and Tocuaro in Mexico. Tocuaro is a village in Mexico that is very different to Berkeley but it does have some similarities. The climate of Tocuaro is warm most of the year but here we have four seasons. In Tocuaro there is a very big lake surrounded by mountains. In Berkeley we can travel by walking, cycling and car but in Tocuaro some people travel by donkey along with walking. Both Berkeley and Tocuaro have a church and a school.
