OUR WEALTH OF LOCAL RESOURCES
The school is located in the historic town of Berkeley in Gloucestershire. Here we have the good fortune to have a wealth of learning resources on our ‘door step’ which our children can access.
THE EDWARD JENNER MUSEUM

A short walking distance from the school can be found The Edward Jenner Museum. The museum is Jenner’s former home and houses a fascinating account of the life and works of this man.
Jenner was a general practitioner of medicine and surgeon, but it is his research into the spread of infectious diseases which has made him world famous. His introduction of a vaccine against Smallpox in 1796 has made a significant difference to many on a global scale.
You may like to discover more about Jenner’s work by visiting www.jennermuseum.com.
BERKELEY CASTLE
A little further from the museum is Berkeley Castle. Berkeley Castle is possibly the most outstanding example of mediaeval architecture in the country. The Estate in which the castle can be found is one of the best examples of a mediaeval deer park in the country.
On a historical note, it was believed that Edward II was imprisoned at the castle and subsequently murdered. To find out more about Berkeley Castle and its history visit www.berkeley-castle.com
WILDFOWL & WETLANDS TRUST – SLIMBRIDGE Slimbridge is less than a fifteen minute road journey from the school. Here our children can learn about the world’s wetlands and the wildlife that depends on them for survival.
More information about this the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust at Slimbridge can be found at www.wwt.org.uk/visit/slimbridge
